Sarah Adriano, Patent Attorney, Founding Member
Sarah is a highly experienced patent attorney who has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for nearly 30 years. Sarah has experience with all aspects of patent practice, including preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications (chemical, biotech and pharmaceutical); providing patent opinions (freedom-to-operate, validity) and patent landscapes, patent due diligence. Sarah has represented clients before the U.S. Patent Office, including before the Patent and Trademark Appeals Board, and has supervised the prosecution of patent applications throughout the world, including before the European Patent Office in oral hearings, opposition and appeal proceedings. Her experience includes immunology, virology, and molecular and cellular biology, including antibody technology, gene cloning and expression, gene therapy, vaccines and diagnostics, inflammatory and autoimmune disease therapies, cancer therapies, small molecules and bioinformatics inventions. Sarah has an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Maine, and a law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Sarah is admitted in New York and a registered U.S. patent attorney (Reg. No. 34,470).
Renato Domingo, Attorney, Founding Member
Renato is an experienced litigator in California. He is a former Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles from 1987-1990. Renato has experience in preparing and reviewing contracts and licensing agreements and involves himself in all aspects of state law practice. Renato obtained an undergraduate degree in geology from Pomona College, and a law degree from the Loyola Marymount University. He is admitted in California.
Dr. Teresa Liang, Patent Agent
Teresa has more than 15-year experience as a Patent Agent and has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in the U.S. and under the PCT and guided prosecution in many non-U.S. jurisdictions, in various technology areas including antisense, protein, DNA, RNA, micro-RNA, antibody compositions, diagnostic tools and methods, optical technologies, chemical analytical technologies, and pharmaceuticals. Teresa was formerly an in-house patent agent at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (previously known as Isis Pharmaceuticals) and developed particular expertise in patenting nucleic acid based drugs. Teresa has a double major undergraduate degree in Genetics and Pathology from U.C. Berkeley and a doctoral degree in Molecular Pathology from UCLA and is a registered U.S. patent agent (Reg. No. 51,946).
Dr. Han Htun, Scientific Technical Adviser
Han has 7-year experience as a Scientific Technical Adviser to Adriano and Associates with additional 16-year experience in prosecuting three patents as an Inventor (US Patent No. 6,455,300 B1, issued September 24, 2002; US Patent No. 7,312,032 B2, issued, December 25, 2007; and US Patent No. 8,058,395 B2, issued, November 15, 2011). He has aided in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the U.S. and under the PCT and guided prosecution in many non-U.S. jurisdictions, in various technology areas including small molecules, antibodies, bioinformatics, medical devices, diagnostic tools and methods, optical technologies, chemical analytical technologies, and pharmaceuticals. Han was formerly a professor at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he developed particular expertise in functional organization of the interphase nucleus, steroid hormone action, gene expression and regulation, cancer biology, biomolecular imaging, light microscopy and cell screening techniques. Han has an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and a doctoral degree in Genetics with a minor in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a senior research fellow in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Caltech and a biotechnology fellow at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health. Han brings with him a unique perspective as an Inventor and a high level of scientific standard.
